Yes! Yes! Great place, Charlottesville: the historic campus, Michie's Tavern, and the Great Man's Monticello. TJ designed both his home and the campus. I got to go upstairs at Monticello and study it once.

Great place to visit, but... too much rain and humidity for me.

I've lived in quite a few places and travelled to more, but my heart is in Eastern North Carolina - New Bern to be exact. So that is probably where I will go when I leave the DC area. My mother is from NC and I spent lots of time there growing up. I love the water (two rivers, the sound and the ocean), the barbecue, the people and the whole atmosphere there. Of course, I plan to be gone alot to various parts of the country/world, but that will be the place I call home.

Well, I think the cat is out of the bag already...My brother has lived in Mesa for almost 30 years and that whole area has exploded. I've never seen so much housing construction every time I visit. Amazing...He is in Red Mountain Ranch and I remember when there was barely anything in Mesa at all. Just like the DC area, I guess. Boomtown.

No, I wasn't. But I'm headed to New Bern for Thanksgiving to see my niece and her family. They heard about the area from the family and checked it out. Loved it so much they moved there recently when her hubby retired from the Air Force. My sister and her husband from FL will be there, too. Going to catch up with Raul (airgate) at FC. His wife's family owns a restaurant that I've been to.

MsPerquet (now that you've been to France) I think your brother & I are nearly neighbors.

Really, Paul? Merveilleux! He's to the left of Thomas before you get to Power Rd.
