jrfblueeyes: "...Last one to leave, turn out the lights...."

Gray-Out Davis almost turned out the lights, and lots of Californians love him and Cruz. We in AZ sit next door, nervously eyeing the Golden State and its goings-on. We also cast a wary eye at those who emigrate our way, fearing they will come to californicate our life, as well.
SW Culture-- it's not esp. admirable, but at least it's somewhat passive: kind of careless/lazy/it's too hot/oh well. If a person has any money, he can choose to avoid it.
Shake the boots out-- I think the Deer Valley Airport now covers your previous stomping grounds.

Some day I plan to have a summer home in Stanley. Its just north of Ketchum/Hailey. Right in the middle of the sawtooth mountains. The valley (head waters of salmon river) is one of my favoriate places in the whole wide world. Lots of mountains, beautiful lakes and not a lot of people.

The winters there are bitter cold tho (stanley). Watch CNN and you'll usually see stanley listed as the coldest place in the US.

Jackson and area is beautiful too. The grand titons are a beautiful range too. I like Yellowstone a lot too, espically if you get off the beaten path some

The drive east out of Yellowstone on 14 over the Bighorns to Sheridan is one of the all-time great mountain roads!
