At the Waterford Fair some years ago, there was a man who played the dulcimer and actually made them. Really beautiful instruments.

Dave I can't remember where the yard flowers thread was but....
the opposite view from the other bushes. The white azaleas and Rhododendrons are coming in.
and of course that lawn ornament again.

Look'n good Jerry. We moved the thread, the last guy to post didn't add much. We love those; don't see them in MI but I grew up with them in PA.

Our azaleas are long past blooming and our gardenias are fading fast but still fill the evening air with their sweet distinctive smell.
One thing I really miss about living up north is the long spring when it seems like something is always in bloom.

Where did you live “up north?”

Did you have a long winter “up north?” If you did, do you miss that?

Penn Yan, NY, at the north end of one of the Finger Lakes, for the first 19 years of my life. Yes, the winters were long and seemed even longer.
No, I do not miss that.

Hopes and fears this weekend.

I hope this weekend I'll be rolling around in the soil of our new property.

But given the reaction from our solicitor this morning ("we haven't heard from the vendor's solicitor, was it supposed to be this Friday?")...I fear not. Still, plenty of wood to be moved and spouting to be hung before the rains really set in.

The local Cruising Around Dayton is group supposed to have their first drive of the year. Last few attempts were cancelled because of COVID-19.

Hope they end up having it. We did a brief meet up last weekend and it was good to see everyone again and get out socially.

Think we are going to try the outdoor seating at one of our local restaurants. Just opened up at 50% capacity - outdoor only.
