Spent yesterday trying (and failing) to find the main water feed to the house. I spent hours following the most promising pipe, only for it to hook a left in the last few yards and lead to the old well. D'oh.

Since it's getting colder, today we decided to make our own weather. I was down to a t-shirt but still sweating like a very sweaty thing once this got going. Apologies for the lack of focus, I was trying to watch the fire rather than my phone.

Oh, and no treated woods were burned in the making of this bonfire.

Wow!!! Nice. I so envy you for living in NZ. Years and years ago I yearned to move there but never had the courage. Oh well -- life.

I see quite a large group of motorcycles over at the Iwo Jima. Guess they are having their own little Rolling Thunder, which would have been today. But on the order of 400,000 for the real event.

My aunt rode on the back of a friend's bike during Rolling Thunder a couple years ago. She said it was an amazing experience.

I see Wellington got hit with a rather sizable earthquake! Did you feel it?
