I don't like pot. I miss having roses but my back can't take much bending over.

Matt - Do live near a body of water? You mentioned flooding.

I was meaning flooding from sudden heavy downpours or us forgetting to turn off a hose. Not likely to happen but my job revolves around catering for any unforeseen situations so I tend to over-engineer things.

We actually live in a very dry area in NZ terms, although our land has survived the current drought very well.

So do you dig wells there for water? How long do they last before you have to dig somewhere else? Or do you have a holding tank or rain catching tank? As you can tell, I do not live in a dry area.

You know, some edibles would help that.

We're fortunate enough to be on town supply as we're only about 1.5 miles from the center of the nearest town, but there's an old water bore on our property as well as an existing bore on the neighboring property to which we have perpetual rights. We'll get those up and running again once we complete purchase of the land next door, which should be next month. We're on a small plain at the foot of some hills so the water table under our land is very high, only about 12 inches down, so water's never going to be an issue for cropping/stock.

Behold, the veges:

Looks good. We have no exciting plans for the weekend, does anyone?
Weather permitting a short drive and hopes of a few photo ops. A couple of zoom calls for socializing, and that's all I know of right now. These weekends are exhausting!
