This weekend is a 300 mile overnight round trip to a nearby city for a brass band camp, where my son is being paid for some of his arrangements and to provide tutoring. He'll also be getting some one-on-one time with a world-renowned cornet soloist, which will be invaluable. My daughter will also be playing at the camp, and my wife will be along for the ride, so we'll call it a family vacation.

Off to Pittsburgh today to tour a WWII LST similar to the ship my father served on in the Pacific.

We are taking a scenic train trip on the Potomac Eagle in Romney WV tomorrow. It's a 3 hour roundtrip tour of Trough Canyon which was surveyed by George Washington in 1748.

I had plans to go with Michael to visit his dad on Saturday and then be together Sunday and Monday, after being in CA for a week and not seeing each other. He got sick with a bad cold (?) on Friday night so we had to cancel all that. He tried to take a Covid test but the liquid had decreased too much. I looked at my Covid tests and they were even more evaporated than his.

I took the NSX out yesterday to Costco. Today is still up for grabs.

Hope Michael feels better. I've been "off" for a couple of days. Took a little nap in my chair yesterday which I never do. Felt OK this AM, a little lightheaded but not bad. Went to the gym, easy class. Home for a bit and felt lightheaded, dizzy, and "off." Took a two hour nap! Feeling OK now...not sure what this is about.

Ally is coming over later for dinner. I gave her the option to re-schedule. She didn't take it. Guess she's exposed to so many germs at work she's not concerned.

We are supposed to hang with some friends tomorrow. We will see how I feel.

BTW, free Covid tests will be available to all in September.

Huh. Your body knows you don't take naps so it forced you to. I've been tired to and looking forward to bed at night. It's kinda nice not having plans.
