What plans do you have for the coming Weekend ?

True. Mom stayed home raising kids and home making and Dad went to work. Things sure have changed. I like that dads are more available. My dad didn't have a role model as his parents divorced when he was two and his mother was a piece of work. He lived with his uncle for some years. I treasure the times we went on vacation to Lake Havasu and he was with us all day. He was a different person, then. Happy and playful.

I can relate to this, my father was always different on vacation too, but as soon as vacation was done it was back to his work life self. We always understood our father though, as he had no role model growing up since his father passed when my father was an infant. As much as I dwell upon the loss of my father I know many others had it worse, as my nephew lost his father at 3 months old, and then lost his mother at 27. Just be thankful while you have them and make the best of every day. I like my father have become somewhat of a workaholic, he rubbed off on me quite a bit that way since he put me to work with him when I was 5 years old, so I can blame him lol. I've done my best not to miss family time though, my wife is a stay at home mom so that lets me off the hook sometimes.

Today we celebrated our 56th wedding anniversary. We went out to a Japanese restaurant. After dinner we went to the Japanese bakery next door and bought two slices of cake to eat at home in a little while.

Took a ride to the lovely little town of Bristol, RI, today. If it had been nicer, we would have gone earlier and walked around a bit. However it was cloudy. So we went straight to the little bar where Rick's long time friend was playing in his two man band. Irish, folk, and other music we are familiar with. Always a good time. A few drinks, and a bite to eat, good music made for a pleasant afternoon.
Here's hoping we won't end up with Covid.....

I'm heading out for a "little" road trip to pickup some car parts this weekend.
