Like many here, I sure wish I could have had more time with my father.

Glad you enjoyed your time with your Dad, Rob. Do you have plans to head back to FL anytime soon to visit him there?

Yeah me too I don’t take it for granted time moves fast and things change fast. I’m hoping to get down there some time to visit him.

Participating in this event.

More than 100 S2000s are registered to be on display. There will be giveaways every hour, exclusive 25th Anniversary merch inside the Honda store, an S2000 competition, vendors, exhibitors, food trucks, and lots of other very cool cars and bikes.

If you are in SoCal and not already registered to attend, it is recommended to get there early for general admission. Gates open between 7:30am and 8am for general admission at the Harpers Way entrance. Honda does a very good job on these gatherings every other month (different featured vehicle at each event) and it's nice to see them embracing the enthusiasts again.

I had my father up to his age of 67, but for 65 of those years he was a workaholic and really spent every minute working, he missed a lot of family time just working. The man loved to work, and he would prefer working over any other activity, a bit odd that way. As you noted Scoots I would have loved to spend more time with him.

He was a very busy man, and somewhat cranky at times, with a very serious strict Italian upbringing. I spent many days and hours working with him in the family business but it was a work environment more than family time. When he got to 65 he started to slow down and was a bit more pleasant and less crusty, we all enjoyed the change in him at that stage and we all thought that was the time to start catching up on family time. But as he hit 65 he was diagnosed with ALS and died within 2 years of the diagnosis. I carry some kind of guilt or regret from all of that, I still haven't figured out why but it sticks with me, and I never really grieved fully. Definitely the worst experience of my otherwise normal and fortunate life which I am grateful for.

It was ingrained in the generation before ours to work for a better life for their family. Not a bad thing. That's how is was.

True. Mom stayed home raising kids and home making and Dad went to work. Things sure have changed. I like that dads are more available. My dad didn't have a role model as his parents divorced when he was two and his mother was a piece of work. He lived with his uncle for some years. I treasure the times we went on vacation to Lake Havasu and he was with us all day. He was a different person, then. Happy and playful.
