^ Nope, definitely not. We had a lull for a couple of years during the recession, but now it is insane the amount of construction going on here. I think some of space in the buildings will be stores and restaurants, and maybe offices, but a lot is going to be high-end condos. It looks like half of them will be $2M and up. Even I was shocked.

That white building with the stuff in the windows is our new secondary school. It is interesting architecture. Several floors at angles to each other with lots of glass as you can see. The roof of each level is grass. The school itself is an alternative school based on the liberal education movements of the 60s and 70s. Arlington County is one of the most liberal in the country.

Well, Murphy did me for violating one of his laws over the weekend.

It was hot and I was in a rush to get the vege beds done, so (spoiler alert) I was wearing a t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops. One thing led to another and a reasonable-sized piece of lumber fell on my foot, which instantly blew up like a balloon. Pretty sure something's broken, I don't seem to have a lot of control of four toes now. A bit of blood-letting, a few ibuprofen and some ice took the swelling down after a while so I carried on and got one garden finished (yeah yeah, pic to come). The past couple of nights haven't involved a lot of sleep since any pressure on it is painful.

I'm not about to head to any medical facility with the current pandemic declaration so I'm doing what any red-blooded he-man would do, and I'm walking it off.

Well, limping it off.

Wow, Matt. Not a good idea to develop a need for medical care. Hope your strategy works quickly to put you back on good footing.

Matt, It depends what's broken . . . if it heals wrong it will be an issue for all of time! Give it serious thought and get off it cowboy.

I'm back at my day job today (IT drone) so I have my foot up on a footstool, I thought they were designed to support huge stacks of old magazines but it turns out they have a secondary purpose. I'll see how it pans out over the next few days.

You should really get it looked at. If it is broken and you don't get it set on a timely basis it could heal and give you problems the rest of your life. OR...if it heals incorrectly when someone does look at it they may have to re-break it to set it correctly.

Find a doctor to look at it asap!!
