It was a Dragon weekend! The mileage was for my house back to my house. It is about 500 miles to get there so we did approximately 500 miles while there.

For those that have been to Fontana in the past will remember how it could use an update. Well the facility is under new ownership and management. They have remodeled the lodge and the rooms are beautiful! The lobby and related side rooms are in the process of being remodeled. They have put tons of money into the facility and still have more work to go (cabins and out buildings).

Correction: The mileage was actually 1500 miles. I can't cypher when I'm dead tired!

Does the dragon still draw a big S2000 group? We went there in 2019 in the P car. Enjoyed it very much. Was glad to be there mid-week. It's not something we'd rush back to. Other things to do, other roads to travel. Glad you enjoyed.

After I get more comfortable on the Aprilia, I'd like to do the dragon with it but that would be a trailer it down kind of situation.
There is no way I'm riding it all 1,000 miles to get there.

Yes there were quite a few cars there. Some of the Dragon participants like some of the Vintage people have moved of to other cars yet they still attend.

I spent Sunday dropping our largest new culvert pipe in place. The pipe is a bit over 2 feet in diameter and 20 feet long, I had it dangling off the front of the tractor with a dodgy rigging setup using ratchet straps to allow me to nudge it into the end of an existing pipe 4 feet down in a trench. Somehow it all worked out perfectly and the tractor didn't end up nose-down in the trench with me under it. My wife kindly helped out with the final few inches even though we've both been feeling quite ill for the past week. The pipe even runs downhill so we won't just back up the council drain with storm water.

It was great to finally get this one out of the way, I've been very nervous about getting it wrong since it's not the easiest thing to maneuver (did I spell that right in US-speak?)

We get our thrills in strange ways, I know.

^^Matt any time you don’t end up under your tractor it’s a good day!

Matt, is the culvert preformed concrete or ribbed steel?

I've read some nasty tales of trench collapse which I'd be concerned about.

My wife kindly helped out with the final few inches
wouldn't that interrupt the work flow?
