When November arrives I have to go down my homeowner checkoff list.
Change refrigerator filter
Change furnace filter
Change humidifier filter
Insure humidifier drain is clear
Drain several buckets of water from the water heater
Oil the water heater blower
Change the hard water filter

All done for this year! I clean the dryer vent every two years.

Rick is outside now tending to stuff, including checking the portable generator. P car goes for oil change Monday, time for it to be under cover. He changes furnace filter often.
My refrigerator has a filter?? We never drain the water heater. We didn't think it extended the life of a water heater. Just replace every ten years.....

^ our refrigerator has a water filter, good for 6 months or 400 gallons, we just replaced one this week. Not every fridge has one , it depends on the brand and if you have a water dispenser.

Nope, no water filter. The plumber thought it was weird that we didn't want an ice maker installed when we re-did the kitchen. We don't use much ice, the water line to ice makers can be problematic. Not worth it for us. We can make ice the old fashioned way.

Smart move, I see too many fridge water lines rupture and causing flood damage. I never wanted one on any of our past refrigerators, but when we bought our current home the fridge came with a water dispenser. It is nicely plumbed with flexible looped copper piping so I hope it will remain reliable. We have wood flooring all around it so I can't afford a leak from the fridge.

Yup was just going to post the same thing. Working in property maintenance I have seen a lot of ice makers cause serious water damage. Sprinkler systems are a close second.

When my wife's sibling were clearing out their parents place they also got a dumpster.
I think half he neighborhood thought it was there to save them a trip to the dump.
chairs, couches and so forth show up in two days.
We had the same issue in our neighborhood. Inconsiderate neighbors.

Whenever we do roofing projects the roofing bin fills up with all sorts of trash, and boy do the contactors get pissed as you can't mix household waste and roofing materials (that need recycling) . There is a certain segment of society that thinks a refuse bin located anywhere outside of their property is an invitation for them to get rid of their trash at a lower level of effort and lower cost (free). It seems to be a universal issue these days thanks to the world we live in.
