I was planning to go to my Procrastinators Anonymous meeting this morning but it has been postponed indefinitely.

As I try to reduce my work fuel costs as much as I can, I took a plunge and bought a hybrid SUV today. Just a basic hybrid, not a plug-in version though I wouldn't have minded a plug-in. I can't do a full electric as I need to drive 450 km trips once a week and I am not stopping 45 minutes to re-charge on each four hour trip. I took it for a 15 km test drive today in town, and 9 km were done under electric power, so only 6 km used fuel, I thought that was pretty reasonable for a simple system. It may save me a few bucks on my daily work drives.

You are correct, I've owned a few , mostly I never had good luck with Ford brakes. But I hated them most for the warranty crap they put my sister through. I always had to go to the Ford dealer and prove them wrong when they tried to pull shananigans with her, but she is now gone. I like the hybrid system they are using so it is take it or leave it, they drive really well, and I can fix brake issues that may come up.

It was very hot and extremely humid here today. No rain materialized. I went to the Y this AM, Rick did his exercise thing in the basement. After lunch it just seemed wrong to sit inside and hide in the AC. Headed over to Onset, MA a tiny census dedicated place in the town of Wareham. Those here who enjoy visiting mediums may appreciate this:
Onset was developed in the 1880s as a summer camp meeting for Spiritualists. Many of the existing cottages in Onset were built as second homes for individuals from Boston, Taunton, Brockton and other northeastern cities who gathered to hear mediums communicate with the dead. While it was run by the Spiritualists, the village was known as Onset Bay Grove.[6]

Now it's a little beach town, way less crowded than any town on Cape Cod, though not a lot happening. It's a nice place to walk around, there are a few restaurants, and there was a great breeze which kept us comfortable. There are many older homes, some in the Victorian style. The beach is not too wide, the water calm and it's a nice spot for families who don't want to worry about rough surf with the little ones.
