Dave, do you want me to come up there and put a proper outlet in for you. That is scary!

Pretty much what I was thinking. What are you, the dad from A Christmas Story?

David, First off that scary situation (as for the transformer) has been there I would guess since the house was built in 1967, so I sleep fine. Why is that scary? As for the rest, it is just some off shoots to over head lights using heavy duty cable that I put up maybe 20+ years ago.

BUT get this, I have promised myself to stay off ladders since I have so little flex in my right ankle. Neighbor offered to come over tonight and take the voltage reading for me. Hell yeah, thank you neighbor! He comes over and rings the back doorbell. The damn thing worked!!! WTF. I'll bet I've pushed that 10 times in the past week as I tired things like turning off the circuit at the breaker. He measures the transformer, which we know works, and sure enough 20.6 v. And, he keeps asking what did I do different. Drank some Devil's Cut instead of Jim Beam but that didn't solve anything. Our best guess is the noise maker in the house chime was sticking, which is how I found it when I bypassed it earlier installing the Ring. I am at a total loss as to why it stopped and why it is now working.

I have a new Ring installed and just need to get it activated tomorrow.

No, Dean, I am not. My wife was active in Rotary until she had her stroke and had to retire from her job back in 2004.
I have a few Rotarian friends, though.

We'll say the weekend is beginning early, with lunch Thursday at the home of one of the Y ladies. She is an excellent cook I hear. Seafood is on the menu. Our exercise studio is closed this week, as they are refinishing the wood floor, so a good week to have a little non exercise get together.

Our granddaughter, Ally graduates Friday from UMASS Dartmouth. Big day indeed! We will be going out for lunch at a Portuguese Restaurant afterwards with her parents, our grandson, the boyfriend and I believe his parents.

Haven't thought beyond Friday yet. If weather permits, I'm assuming some top down time.

Scoots, the good news with Dave's doorbell picture is location location location. No one is likely to accidently stick the fingers on the high side.
well maybe except Dave when he's up on the ladder. Now that would be a Wyle E coyote scene. Zap aaaargh thud.

It's not the doorbell transformer that worries me. It is that other mess hanging off the lamp holder that bothers me!

I guess I spent too many years wiring houses!
