Our neighbors love the ponies, so they have developed a tradition of hosting a Kentucky Derby party inviting all of the neighbors over.
I'm not a huge bourbon fan but their mint juleps are worthy.

As to the weekend, Saturday I'll attend the spin class, then I have been requested to keep a little girl company for about an hour or so. My sister's "quasi" granddaughter will be with my sister Saturday AM and my sister has a funeral to attend.

Sunday's weather looks nice, we'll hit the road to somewhere........
I think my back issues (sciatica) have been coming on for some time. Long walks have resulted in hip pain, which I just chalked up to joint issues but in fact was probably the early stages of something spinal. l was not able to identify any activity that might have triggered this bout of misery.

I'm still unable to walk any distance, sleep on my right side, go to exercise class, play golf, play pool, play disc golf, dance, or do pretty much anything that involves standing or walking. Fortunately I have at least improlved the point where I can get out for trivia nights, live music, and long top-down drives. I will be going back to my primary care doc this week.

Hope you get better soon Mike back pain is no fun. My friend who is very active and stays in excellent shape, he has done many triathlons, is going through some serious back issues so it affects all kinds.

Thanks all for the well wishes, and to Dave for the above. I actually learned all three exercises when I went through a similar problem maybe 35 years ago. They were recommended by an orthopedist who said I could either do them or have back surgery. Easy call.. They did offer relief and probably helped the healing process as well. My current round of sciatica is proving more stubborn, not surprising given that I am a little older this go-round.

Still optimistic that I will see enough improvement to be a little more active this weekend. My pool team is in a tournament on Saturday and I would certainly love to contribute to that effort.
