More watching the boob tube and cleaning up around the house and maybe fill out my tax questionnaire. I formed a divot in my futon mattress from spending so much time on it this month I had to flip it over.

Well the little grandson that I used to carry around in a car seat, and push in a carriage had a driving lesson with Grandma today. I took him to the local industrial park and he did several loops around and we went down some of the various roads in there. I had him do some left turns and right turns, and pull into a parking place. Kept the speed down so Grandma was comfortable. Very little traffic there on a Saturday, so a good place to get the feel for driving. I had to talk him into the outing a bit. He thought my Jeep was too big. However, with no parked cars on the sides of the roads and wide two lane areas, I knew he'd be fine.

In true "car people" fashion, I asked him to maneuver around a puddle in the road. My car is pretty clean right now.

I enjoyed the time with him. He's a really good kid.

Lainey, when you are the passenger do you have to use his old booster seat?

I do not. My passenger seat has many adjustments! LOL!

When Ryan and I switched seats after his lesson I realized the seat heater had been on the whole time he was driving. The passenger heater doesn't go on automatically so I didn't think of it. I mentioned it was rather warm and I forgot about the heater. He said he noticed it was warm, but didn't know if it was because he was a little nervous.

I love it! My son still puts me down for being a car person. He's into spending money on high priced whiskey and bourbon.

Mardi Gras weekend. Yesterday it was the Gulfport day parade. We went downtown for Chandigras, a pre-parade at Chandelier Brewery. Did a little day drinking and hung out with Blackwater Brass, a favorite local band of ours.

Today was the St. Paul's Carnival Association parade, aka the Pass Parade (held in Pass Christian). This is by far the biggest parade on the coast this weekend, surpassed only by the Biloxi parade on Mardi Gras day. It can get rowdy. Couple of years ago gunfire broke out on the parade route as a couple rival gangs decided to disagree about something. Today was nice and calm with only the usual drinking, carousing, music, and boob displays. Friends had a camper set up on the parade route so we chilled there and enjoyed the festivities.

Weather was fantastic. Could not have been better with clear skies and highs out behind the camper.

The new French bakery in Georgetown was packed today, which I expected - over an hour wait for a table. So did not get to try it out yet. Ended up stopping at a restaurant in the Georgetown Inn. Excellent food and lucked out getting a table. Also crowded. Lots of people walking today.

See above…I am sure their bread is very good. Quite a few authentic French places in town. But will confirm when the crowds die down. Probably not so bad during the week. Tomorrow is back to Georgetown to Leopold’s, a very good Austrian place, for Posh and her mom’s birthday lunch. Think schnitzel, bratwurst, etc and fabulous desserts. Not a low calorie weekend!!
