Tuesday everywhere else in the country is just "Tuesday", but in Mobile, Pensacola, and New Orleans, and all points in between it was anything but.
Here are some shots from very early in the Quarter and later out in the Marigny area of NOLA taken during and after the Saint Anne Marching Parade. Very formal. Show up sometime between 7 AM and noon, and join the line of costumed revelers walking from Marigny to the Quarter, mostly down Royal Street.
Friends of ours who have an apartment in the quarter. She's got her Jacky-O on and he's her secret service agent. Note the ear piece. Their dog is named NOLA.
Kelly is squatting down so he won't overshadow Ms. Onassis. I suggested. He complied. We blame 9:00 AM alcohol consumption.
There were a total of four paintings in this, the most photographed walkers in the parade. I shot this happy little group in the quarter before heading out to Marigny. See the Happy Little Squirrel on Bob Ross' shoulder?
This is the same group last year.
Suiting up for the parade.
Random bands were seen marching through the area all day.
Clowns.
Horses.
Gnomes.
Wrestling (on a moving float.)
Whatever.

This is a typical high tech Saint Anne Parade float. Note the built in seating and three wheel pedal powered tow vehicle.
This is one of the largest floats...
...but still human powered.
Chillin' after the parade (or most of it).
Censored.
Booze Scout Leader.
Abe and friends.

This percussion float included a number of attached hanging drum sticks anyone could use to join in on the beat.
Fun for kids of all ages, including me later.
Re-hydrating after marching.

And finally by request from Dave...I was asked to a pose with this random group of marchers.
So, which one is me?
(HINT: One of these characters doesn't go with the others.)
