Exactly Rob, that is my point 100% , this is some b.s. dreamed up by real estate agents, I don't know what they are so afraid of having us in the home. I could answer all of their questions it would be so much easier. I don't like the smell of this by my realtor seems to be all in favour of it. weak.

I can see an inspector not wanting the homeowner there.
Especially if they start to dig into a problem area. it could get testy.

I agree with you Jerry, that is why I am so skeptical about this process. I have outright told them the home inspection better not be about talking our agreed upon price lower. So they better get that out of their head, they can decide to buy the house or walk away, it won't be a bargaining process we are not building the Taj Mahal.

Joey, relax. It will be fine. House looked great, well done, and from my son's experience (he moves a lot) the inspections have gone well.

Yes, Joey, good things come to those who wait.

Our home is in good shape and everything has been maintained 100%, my only concern is that many home inspectors are fly by night, and they always need to find something wrong in order to substantiate their $500 fee.

In my daily work I often see the b.s. claims made by home inspectors, so I don't trust them. I am sure there are many competent ones out there but it is a totally unregulated industry so you get a wide mix of home inspectors. On the new home purchase we are making I am doing my own home inspection , I don't need to hire one and we don't have any financing needed so no mortgage company to require a home inspection for lending requirements. Looking forward to getting this out of the way, all of us need to be out of the home for 3 hours including our cat.
Its your house, they cant force you to be gone!!! This type of stuff really annoys me! We have moved around a bit and so have bought and sold a few houses.. this is NOT necessary!

Not sure what is on the agenda, other than football on Sun. Probably the auto show. But whatever is will be a lot nicer with Vito home. Comes back from NJ tomorrow. Now to see if his mom behaves herself when he is not there to oversee what she is doing. I have my doubts. That feistiness can work both ways.

Joey, I was just about to post the same thing that A.O. said. Tell them it is your house and you aren't leaving and if they don't like it, well, too bad. My wife gets all worked up before she sees the doctor. She's afraid they will tell her to take a new medication for cholesterol, or high blood pressure, or something else, and I remind her that all she has to do is say NO. It's her body and nobody can make you take a medication you don't feel like taking.

I recovered a line of wooden toys we import. that were damaged by Ian. Very nice stuff. Problem is all the boxes were wrecked and a little mold was on some of the pieces. I'm spending the weekend cleaning, restoring and putting them together. What's salvageable we will donate. Leftovers or partials I'll try & be creative. Funnest one I've done so far was 3 train sets which I combined into one. Choo Choo! Haven't played with trains since i was a kid. The wooden band was fun too but I'd hate to listen to it all day.
I have about 20 boxes to go.
