Happy Birthday Rob and Ray.

Good to be home though.
Ended up flagging working round the property and took the family over to Napier for Art Deco weekend. We all got dressed up in 1930s garb and spent the day looking over old Duesenbergs, Lagondas, a Cadillac V-16, SSs (um...) and so on, watching aerobatic displays, listening to big band music etc. Great way to spend the day with the kids.

^ Did you ever check out that winery I mentioned? Paulownia Estate? Owned by a couple (Vaughan and Christine Paul) we met on our river cruise from Paris to Normandy - www.paulowniawines.co.nz. It may no longer be in operation, or not owned by them.

Sorry, forgot about that. I've just had a look and it's about a couple of hours away in a different region. I've had a dig around the Companies Office register and I can't find mention of them being directors or shareholders of any companies but maybe they're known by their middle names. I note Google has a review from a month ago mentioning the "sweet couple" who run it so they may still have it.

I used to go drag racing at the strip not far from the vineyard but sadly I don't get the chance these days.

Haha, I did think about snapping some pictures just for you guys...just as I got in back the car to drive home. When it comes to photography I'm an excellent IT worker, I'll try and rustle up some professional photos. One moment please caller...

[edit] Nothing obvious online yet but here's some cars from the 2018 event. A lot of them are there every year, NZ's not a big country so we don't have quite the same supply of old tin as the US:
