What plans do you have for the coming Weekend ?

I was happy, though, to give up my ticket to Josie last Saturday so she could go to the football game with her grandfather. They were freezing their butts off at the football in person while our daughter and grandson were watching (or not) in the warmth of the cottage we were renting.

Some pretty good college games today. Watching my Tarheels at the moment.

My friend had the Fuego turbo in college. Between that and another friends Chevy Cavalier, I learnt how to drive a manual. We were going into Toronto for a dinner theater and the deal was that I drove, so he could drink. About 2 miles from campus, his intercooler blew up (whatever the technical term for an intercooler failure is)... we pushed the car 2 miles. Luckily, he had an aftermarket warranty, so it costs me about $100 to get it fixed.
One winter, brutal cold, his hatch was covered with snow and ice. He opened the hatch and closed it to get the ice off.... Nope.... The glass shattered instead. LOL!!! was funny.

My best friend had one back in our wild days, it was actually reported in the magazines anyways to be a good handling car. He got it on 3 wheels a few times and I came kind of, well sort of, close to rolling it one time. The shifter handle did come off in my hand during one aggresive shift and it always made a weird sound coming from behind the dash that sounded like a percolating coffee pot.

I had the 4-door version of the Fuego. It did handle reasonably well. They had a whole bunch of unusual failures.
Had it been reliable it would have been my favorite car, but it wasn't by any metric you want to apply.

Will be doing stuff with family. Sun all the ladies will be at the KenCen Nutcracker. Not sure about the guys. Then we all are going to dinner someplace. Sat we will watch the OSU/Michigan game.

I'll be carrying on building frames around the liquidambar trees we planted in the front paddocks for some shade and privacy. They've really taken well so far and started budding almost immediately, but need protection from the cattle as they love the taste of the leaves.
In a few years they should match the trees that line the main driveway:
The ground is already rock hard despite having more rain than usual so the post hole borer is struggling to get a bite, and I'm having to do a fair bit of loosening. digging by hand. I'm not in the best physical shape after 6 weeks on crutches, then catching Covid 3 weeks ago, so it's a good way to get my fitness back.

Picking up lumber today to rebuild the steps from the garage to the house. I need to add a second handrail for the wife and the current steps are too narrow.

Other than washing the tons of salt off of my car at some point this weekend I'm planning to relax and visit with some friends and I may drag out the Christmas decorations.
