Great photos Patricia. Love your comment about why you bought it.

I have a good friend who loves restoring MGs and he just got back from winning his 3rd national award for his 2nd MGA restoration. Meet as in CO Springs this past week. About 100 MGs. He trailered his... Now he has the highest awards you can get with two MGAs and a MG TD, all of which he still owns. He is restoring a MG Coupe for the next one in Memphis. I love his work and he's helped me on projects but that to me that is not the reason to own a sports car.

I too won a national award but as soon as I won it, I changed the engine, trans, dif, brakes, etc. to make it a period correct "driver" with all the best things ever put in the car by the factory. I can't wait to be able to drive it again down a dirt road with bluster, tires spinning, and all the drifting I can gather up!! Stone chips be damned.

This should be a busy weekend. I have a number of projects to get done while I have two hands. Fertilize the lawn, align the garage door track and replace all of the door rollers, replace some dead flowers, re-pot a large indoor plant, wash the S and cover it up, trim a few bushes, etc.

Barbara saw a report on the local ABC news channel about Sling Shot rentals at the "Back of The Dragon" between Tazwell and Marion, VA and got the "wild hair" up (some unnamed body part) that this what she wants to do this weekend as the weather is supposed to be nice.

It seems that the rental rates are less expensive than I would have expected. And it would be an interesting experience to compare a Sling Shot to the handling of an S-2000. I think that I know the answer, as I have driven the Back of the Dragon.

With that stated there is A LOT to be said for knowing the road. Just like driving on RT 26 in Ohio. We drive it once a year. Several years ago after gathering up on the shoulder south of Woodsfield a Jeep Cherokee came from the opposite direction and turned in front of us going South on RT 26. At first, several people came on the radios moaning about this. But, as it turned out this person was obviously a local that knew the road like the back of his hand. He was driving with one hand with his cigarette out of the window, and it was a pace that most other vehicles could never keep up with. At the time Valentine expressed some relief that he may have saved her life by his pace. Given that it was in Ohio, several of us theorize that it may have been Bobby Rahal that was driving.

Matt, I'm not sure where that video is from but I'm all in. Great road! As for doing it in a dune buggy, I'll pass on that. I recall finding some roads similar to that in my MG while leading a few others. By the time I pulled over at the first pub we found everyone's arms were about to fall off - seems the Brits didn't think our cars needed power steering. Great fun. If you do it; post it. But in an S2000 well now, that could be real fun.

Dune buggy? Three wheeled motorcycle is more like it.

Matt, I just saw them for rent in Grand Lake, Colorado yesterday. I too would like to ride one. They're a tad slow compared to my 2017 NSX but I've always been interested in them. I talked to a woman rider/owner in Solana Beach, California last October. She loved hers.

She starts a new trial drug on Monday. None of the regular drugs (chemo) were working and the cancer continues to grow. She is the first person to get this new targeted therapy in the Cleveland area and only one out of 100 nationwide.

This week we have spent 4 out of 5 day at University Hospital in Cleveland getting a biopsy, visiting an opthomoligist, getting a covid test and filling out tons of paperwork. Each on a separate days!

Her spirits are good and to look at her you would never know she is sick except when we are home alone!

%&^$ cancer!

Dave, sorry to hear the chemo drugs weren't working. Hoping for the very best with the trial drugs. Hugs to you both.

Looks like an ideal spot for a quick skinny dip. but I bet it's wicked cold.
