Last weekend was a Super Bowl party followed by a Super Bowl party. This weekend looks like it will be quiet. Maybe we should go over to NOLA before the Mardi Gras crowds descend on the city.

This weekend i'll be assembling the spare tire holder and spare tire under the bed of the truck, painting some stainless steel components on one of my boats, soaking some stubborn screws in PB Blaster, and painting some bare spots on a boat bottom before it gets a new full coat of bottom paint.

Recovering...some limited movement...Some pain at night. I have lost the crutches and cane so that is an improvement.

What a lovely send off for my friend's mom. The celebration of life beats the morbid funeral any day of the week in my book. It was very cold when we attended the brief (thankfully) service at the graveside. Off to the luncheon. Perfect! She loved Hershey's chocolate and her granddaughter had mini Hershey bars at each place setting. Lovely flowers on the tables (I got to bring one centerpiece home), wonderful, heartfelt words spoken by her youngest son, and before we ate, a toast with Southern Comfort Manhattans, her favorite drink. She would have loved the gathering of her family and friends and totally enjoyed the toast! She also would have loved it that when we noticed there were four glasses with her favorite beverage still untouched, four of us had had one more final toast before we left and yes I had a second one.

RIP Claire, you were a gem of a person.
