Tailgating/parking in Marina Parking just behind our seats with Anne Marie's Acura MDX and a USC easy up, chairs, coolers, the whole 9 yards. GTD Pro Corvettes in IMSA race. Also historic IMSA Prototypes from late 80s early 90s and off road desert trucks that hit jumps and fly through the air. We get to visit with about 50 of our friends that we tailgate with and only see once a year for three days. They come from as far away as Houiston, Northern California, and Santa Barbara. We're also right across the road from the Corvette Corral -- many of my Corvette Forum buddies from across the country -- 150 Corvettes of all ages and colors .We start every morning at 8 with breakfast: King Taco all meat carne asada burritos with cilantro and onions and lots of spicy salsa verde. I've been really looking forward to this long weekend for months. We leave the house at 6, get there by 7, and set up the easy up, chairs, and cooler.
Enjoy George

I just got an email from Costco. No wonder they brag that their stuff is in stock.

I have two of their bedroom sets and a dining room table and chairs but not living room furniture.

During April we normally have a lot of things to plan for. An anniversary, two birthdays, and MG stuff but not this year.

What breaks JIT mfg is not really long lead times, it is unsure leadtimes. Once suppliers start quoting year + leads on parts, then you basically treat that as "we have no idea when you will get these" and then have to react accordingly.

But if lead times are set at 52 weeks, then you order 2 years worth to account for this years production that is now held up and the next years assuming lead times will still be 52 weeks. That is still "Just in time", it is just that in order to have parts just in time you have to order for a lot longer production schedule.

I went to the store today with a pretty big list and they had carts full of unopened stock blocking almost all the shelves. I was only able to get about half of what I wanted although I did climb up on one of the carts and balanced over it to grab what I wanted.

Maybe they could bring the parties to you!

First plan of the weekend de-railed by a sticky brake caliper on the Honda. Lost track of how many we've had to replace on that vehicle.

On our first top down outing of the season, we were headed to the Blue Heron Rookery about an hour away when Rick noticed some vibration in the front end. Got off the highway and he "felt the heat" on one of the calipers. Called the service department at the dealership he used to work for. They will get to it tomorrow. Came home, got my Jeep and dropped off the Honda. Could be worse, could always be worse. There will be more top town days.

I keep having that caliper issue with my Subaru they get rotted out, I think they make them out of paper mache. My S has the original 18 year old brakes on it haven't even had to replace the pads.
You are lucky to have connections Lainey I called for an appointment for my Subaru and they are two and a half weeks out.

Funny you say that. When I called, the service manager said, for Rick it would be "three weeks out"....for me, "bring it right over." Rick's lucky to have me around!
