Add shovel snow to the weekend chores not a whole lot but it is wet n' heavy. A neighbor just stopped by and we exchanged presents which was nice since most of my other Christmas giving and receiving is by mail this year. Now I'll take a nap and then head to work tonight.

Thursday is our 49th anniversary so we are going over to NOLA for lunch at Desi Vega's Steakhouse followed by visits to several hotels that are known for their fantastic lobby Christmas decorations. Kind of low key.. Hoping the kids pony up for a trip into space for our 50th next year.

Congrats!! Will be a quiet Christmas for us. We will go down to the Botanical Gardens at some point. They always have an amazing train exhibit and monuments made out of wood and plants. But this year the train will be outdoors and you have to look through the windows to see the monuments, poinsettias, etc. We also have a new Peruvian restaurant opening today up the street, so may check that out.

Plans are to open gifts with the family on Xmas eve which works out good for us. Donna doesn't have to cook on Xmas day so I made dinner reservations at a nice restaurant in Lansing. I know she really enjoyed that the last time we were able to do that.

This is going to be a special, unique Christmas.
For the first time in our married lives we will be spending Christmas quietly at home, just Barb and I.
no travel to in-laws, Both Kids off on their own.

What's so funny is the wife tells me I really enjoyed my meal the last Xmas day we went there and I've no idea what I ordered but it was one the rare times I did take a picture of it. Maybe if I show them the picture they can tell me.
