On Friday we may head out to lunch at a spot near the animal shelter where Morgan was before she came home with us. They were working on the restaurant for a while. I think it's a re-hab of an old building on the river. Riverhouse

Prior to lunch we will stop by the animal shelter and purchase a 2022 Calendar. I submitted a photo of Morgan.
We may also stop at a brewery near by after lunch. Local brewery has an interesting stout or porter Rick would like to try.

Saturday evening we are bringing pizza and salad to my sister's house for dinner. She's had some complications in the healing from the surgery (plates and pins) for her broken leg. Hoping a procedure she had done yesterday remedies the situation. Meanwhile, she continues with a positive attitude, doesn't complain, but appreciates the company and the fact that they don't need to concern themselves with making dinner. A friend of theirs we've met a couple times will join us too.

Spending the weekend with Anika, but not with Virginija. She flies out tomorrow to Australia. Her brother-in-law suddenly passed away Tuesday morning. He'd been fighting pancreatic cancer for about a year and a half, then suddenly he had an abscess in his liver, which led to massive case of sepsis. Too weak for surgery, no real hope for antibiotics to do any good. Within 24 hours he was gone.
Virginija will be gone the next 3 weeks.

Very sad news...pancreatic cancer is really not very treatable, unfortunately.

Yes - it's pretty amazing he lasted a year and a half. He got into a drug trial (based in Boston) but it got cancelled when some folks had bad side effects.
Virginija's landing in Atlanta after her first leg right about as I'm writing this.

The worst part of living a long life is having to experience loss of friends and family members. Sorry to hear about Virginija's loss.

Behave yourself while Virginija is gone.

Unusual spelling. Is she from Australia?
