Artichoke hearts are easy to find, but the bottoms are a bit harder. I actually order mine online now - brand I get is Cento and I order a case of 12 cans. Each can has 7-9 bottoms. See the food thread. I will repost my recipe there.

Plan this weekend is to carry on running out some electric fencing around the paddocks. For the past couple of years we've relied on temporary hotwires but the stock tend to push each other through them or even just ignore them. They can also get broken wires wrapped around their legs, causing some nasty injuries and I was never happy using them.

I started last weekend and so far I've really enjoyed it. The permanent wires are much tidier and less onerous, and they certainly give a stronger "warning" than the hotwires. I'd rather not have to use any form of electric fencing but this season we had a herd of yearling bulls that really tested the fences, breaking some posts and even digging under a fence at one point.

It's getting to the point where I have enough tools and skills I can chuck in my desk job if I get too stressed by it, and hire myself out to do jobs flor local hobby farmers who aren't willing or able to do these kind of things themselves. I'm finding the prospect quite exciting.

I think collapsing is on the agenda.
Two days in and it's already been a brutal week.

I'm back to an in-person dart tournament. Been playing a lot of online over the past 18 months. This event is a qualified only event (8 qualifying events x 4 people each) for a double elimination championship. I probably went to a qualifier in the summer when the numbers were down. So, this is the event weekend, numbers stable. Cindy is ok with it, just mask up.
