Got together with friends that I haven't seen since last fall. We stay in touch by phone and e-mail but everytime they have a get-together and invite me I always have to work or have had other plans. Had fun we played pool and darts and just hung out and caught up. Took the S got tired of waiting for the rain to stop, it didn't melt but it's dirty now!

Hung out with a couple car peeps yesterday afternoon, grabbed dinner with them. Nice to be with people. Hoping for just a peek of the sun today to motivate me into going for a walk or stroll with the camera. Gathering with friends tomorrow.

Waiting for the insanity to start. Ramps below and roads are closing starting at 3:30. It is always a free for all, with people trying to park wherever they can to get to the prime fireworks viewing areas on the grounds of the Iwo Jima Memorial. It is a show before the show later. Once they close the bridge below us that crosses Rt 50, people crowd there to watch, too. Looks to be a good night for them. Also seeing lots of boats already on the Potomac, tied together for parties.

I finished the Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio and now it is time to get ready and head to Blossom Music center to see the Cleveland Orchestra and watch the fireworks!

Looks like the police have taken security up another level. They closed off additional streets down below and have big dump trucks blocking roads rather than the normal police cars and cones.

I think the fireworks show last night on the Mall was the best we have ever seen. There were many I had not seen before. There were two locations about 1/2 mile apart and they were synchronized to set off together. Very cool. The +1 took a video I think, but not sure about still pics. Will check to see, but I am sure you can find all kinds of pics/videos online. We took a walk around the Iwo Jima grounds a couple of hours before the show and saw many big cameras and big lenses. The hill on the Iwo Jima grounds in front of the Netherlands Carillon is probably where the most pics/videos of the monuments are taken. Certainly where most of the crowd was sitting. Many thousands showed up and weather cooperated.

Also saw at least 50 other fireworks shows on the horizon in DC/MD. The most I've ever seen of those, too.
