That's some exercise, Dave!
We began our weekend today...though every day is a Saturday. Gorgeous weather. Hit the road, in the P car top down. Headed to an Audubon site in RI. Nice trails, trudged about 3.5 miles, lugging the camera and the zoom and the only birds I saw were the same suspects I see in my own yard!

From there headed to an area where I heard there was a Great Blue Heron Rookery. Right on the side of the road, no walking needed. A few nest were occupied, not too much activity. A little far for my lens, but always cool to see. Last stop was closer to home, the tree swallows are back. I title this one: "Not tonight I have a headache." Click for better pic.

Not sure what the rest of the weekend holds. Another nice day tomorrow.

My wife's garden is growing and needs another tier of timbers.
Since the idiot bought the wrong kind of pressure treated lumber we are lining it with 1/16 inch think HDPE.
1.) remove gate
2 ) Install timbers.
3 ) cut roll of HDPE in half, it came in 48" widths.
4 ) install HDPE
5 ) reinstall gate on new timbers.
7 ) go to Emergency Room with back spasms.

I'm going to my first Colorado Cars and Coffee this morning. It's local in Loveland and I expect it will be mainly old restored cars. Lots of that around here.

Helping my resident gardener in her spring ritual of planting about a dozen new shrubs, but first we have to remove, and in some cases, relocate, existing plants.

why does that sound so familiar?

we've got bushes showing up in a week or two.
I ordered a bunch of mountain laurel. of course after I ordered we had to change it for different colors.

I have the motivation to order some compost and compost the lawn before it really comes in.
I just know I don't have the energy to spread 5 ( 10?) yards of compost on the lawn and I wouldn't have a lot of time left to do it.

I think this will be my last lazing around weekend, we are in mud season right now but it hasn't been too bad temps have been in the upper 60's. I'm really tempted to take the S out but still going to wait for some rain to wash the salt off the roads. Flowers haven't popped up yet but they should be soon, looking forward to working outside.
