What plans do you have for the coming Weekend ?

I did all my running around Friday, got all the errands done, hung out inside all day yesterday and today just cut a pineapple into chunks, going to do some laundry and clean up a bit and of course doing my Sunday morning ritual of listening to the Car Doctor show. Looking forward to going to work tonight and getting out as I usually am during these Covid times, glad to be able to see other people tonight.

After procrastinating for 21 years. ( hey don't push me) I executed the creation of a crawl space access door.
it was a weird size. 51 1/4" by 28 3/4 ". it never really had a door just fiberglass insulation and a sheet of wall board screwed in place.
So basically I took 2x3s and cut them to the thickness of foamular 250 closed cell foam insulation 2" panels.
We cut the 2x3 to length, drilled and dowel pinned the corners and glued them in place.
We then took 3/16 plywood which had been cut to size and glued and tacked the hell out of it with my Milwaukee trim nailer.
Flipping it over I cut the insulation to length and filled the hollow space up with the foamular insulation board.
We then glued up the edges again and I had more fun with the trim nailer.
It more or less fits the hole but it does need some trim work before i can mount the hinges.
Holy crap is this thing solid.
there is a term Jury-rigged often misquoted as jerry-rigged or Jerry built.
i'll say you a re lucky if you have a Jerry rigged fix.
'cuz if it this jerry, i's better than it rolled out of the factory.

Went to my usual Y classes, puttered around, laundry, nothing too exciting. Rick got his first Covid shot today. Doing a happy dance for that. Automatically scheduled for his second.
I had a Face Time call with my nephew and his family in NY. The little girl (4) has had two ski lessons. Was supposed to have another today but a power outage prevented that. The found some trails in the woods and pulled the kids (brother almost 2) in a sled. They embrace the winter weather for sure. They had a warmer day yesterday, the little girl is jogging with her Dad. She rides for a bit in her stroller then gets out and jogs along side him for a bit.
Obviously they are outdoors kind of people and I think they are wonderful parents. How I wish my sister was still with us to see all of this. Her time as a grandma was cut so short.
After he gets his second covid shot, my brother in law will head to NY for a visit.

In retrospect I should have taken lots of interim shots but i was impatient to get it done.
On the upside, it was a nice, very positive, father-son interaction. Haven't had many of those over the last ten years.
I will be doing some more work fitting it . I'll try and get some snaps then.

Not a lot happening on weekends. Laying low as far as dining out or socializing until we are fully vaccinated I did spend time with my sister (masked and took separate vehicles) roaming around an antique store in an old mill building. Huge place. I had been looking for a small chair to put at my desk. My sister found one recently and spotted a couple others. Here's my $18.00 find. A little lemon oil and scratch cover on the wood. Some dry carpet cleaner, Lysol and Febreeze on the seat. It's the exact size I wanted. It's old school but I like old school. Classic. They don't make chairs like this any more. Saw lots of beautiful old furniture.

Looks nice and can't beat the price.

I just found the exact same style chair on line. A full set of 6 with two being captain chairs with arms is $1295.00. Paying $18.00 for one chair in very good shape was a bargain indeed.
The style is shown as Regency, Duncan Phyfe I'm not sure of the wood on mine. Color is similar to mahogany but seems to have more grain than I'd expect for mahogany. Maybe it's been re-finished. Doesn't matter. I'm happy with the purchase.
