Yes exactly, I've had some DIY projects go bad and cost me more money due to my incompetence or unforeseen events lol

Well, I was foiled in my plan to mulch the offcuts in the paddock. The driveshaft for the chipper is about 1in too long for me to fit it into the tractor's PTO and I don't have a cut-off saw to modify it. I was going to console myself by hooking up the post hole borer and doing some fencing instead but it turns out the rockshaft on the 3-point hitch is jamming just above horizontal so I couldn't lift the auger into a vertical position. I ended up just digging out some plants by hand and getting them ready for replanting out the front of the property.

I'm sure all that was gibberish to most of you. Perhaps the best translation is "I got sent some wrong parts and my tractor is broken and I hate gardening. "

I'm throwing in the towel for heavy duty cleaning today. I've got half the dining room and living room left so that's not too bad.

On Sun we will have brunch outdoors with my nephew and his wife, who have just returned to the DC area after a year away. We are very happy to have them back. They were able to buy a house and settle on it tomorrow. Move in Mon. We will not go in the house for some days after that. I want all the air to clear out first. They will be cleaning but just to be safe. Masks on of course.

In about 30 minutes I'm going to start my weekend early by jumping in the S with my wife and heading up the coast in the sunshine to drop the car off for its annual roadworthy checks and a full service. We'll pick somewhere nice for lunch, maybe on the beachfront, and I might log in to work from a park bench up there.

Tomorrow I'll carry on with the tractor shed (I'm making progress, I swear), then work all night until about 6:30am, then sleep through Sunday morning before doing some light work on Sunday afternoon/evening such as sanding the walls in the workshop washroom. It probably sounds like chores to a lot of you but I love DIY and it's always nice to get away from my desk.

Change the furnace filter and get back to oil painting - exciting stuff.
