I spent the weekend tearing down a 2016 ND1 Miata for some bodyshop repairs. Long story as to why, but in case anyone is curious, you can pull the motor and tranny as a unit out of the top with an engine hoist just fine! More modern cars of course all call to drop them out the bottom which is easier if you have a lift and the correct jack equipment, but when you are working on quick jacks in your garage you go the other route. It actually took very little fiddling around to pull it. Even cleared the steering rack which was the one part we thought we may have to go back and remove.

Tore it down to the frame rails in the front. Will re-assemble after the bodyshop is through with it.

Good to hear, Patty!
Yesterday was a hang around and do nothing day. This AM I puttered a bit, filled the feeders for the very hungry birds. It was a beautiful day. We took a top down ride looking for cranberry bogs. Found a nice one and we stopped. Didn't notice any "no trespassing" signs and while we were there the owner stopped by, told us to walk anywhere we wanted to, he loves having people enjoy the property. The cranberries were floating, and made for some nice photos. They will harvest them tomorrow.

I'm proud of myself right now. I took my PC, external drive and mouse with me when I left. I got them all re-hooked. I know that doesn't sound like much but it wasn't as easy as I expected. I could not get video on my screen monitor and I kept looking and looking, and finally found the hole in the back of the PC that it was supposed to go in. It didn't look right in the beginning. I don't think I have any internet from Rise satellite right now, which isn't surprising considering their equipment is on the mountains that probably burned, which means I probably won't have any TV when I try it, but at least my cell phone still works on Verizon data.

Glad you're safely home, Patty! I'm sure the kitties are, as well.

Thank you, Gene. I realized my phone is using Wi-Fi so my computer should work on Wi-Fi too. Hmm. . Talia is still a little bit edgy but the other two are fine.

Patty, glad you are back home with kitties and a home to return to.

Why do you have a hot water heater? If you have hot water, why do you need to heat it? (I have a friend who ribbed me over this, so I'm passing it on)

Long weekend coming up here in New Zealand (Labor Day on Monday), I had planned to pack the family in to the new wagon and pick a direction but it turns out I'm working overnight on Saturday. Maybe just a day trip on Monday then. Might head for the ranges for a bush walk.
