hate doing projects when you need a real hardware/lumber yard but it's Sunday.
I need 2 seven foot pieces of Cedar clapboard. Lowes and home despot are useless.

Grrr,.

I got the phone call that the mandatory evacuation is now voluntary! I left my house under voluntary evacuation because I could see the fire's glow from my home. The weather has changed to cold and cloudy with little to no wind and I have 100% confidence that the threat to my home won't come back. Yay!! I'm going to pack up my things and head home.

I'm packing up at my son and daughter-in-law's to head home. The mandatory evacuation is now voluntary. I have 100% confidence that the threat of fire from this Cameron Peak fire is no longer an issue for my house.

Awesome news.
Having to run away and not know what you are going to come home to is gut-wrenching.

When I got home the power was out but it came on within about 5 minutes. How nice that was! As I was going by the mailboxes I saw the utility man for Xcel Energy so I asked him about the gas and he said it won't be on until tomorrow sometime. I guess I better take a shower while there's still hot water in the hot water heater. I have enough cat beds that plug in to keep them warm plus a electric heater I can pull in from the garage so we'll be fine.

^10-28-2020. Home at 3:30 PM. The cats meowed their throats out all the way home.

We're home, kitties! I realized the power was off when the garage door wouldn't open.
