if it was twice that deep I'd say it reminded me of Columbia SC when I was a kid.
I was only there one summer but wow. talk about your vivid memories.

I've got my carsncoffee meet tomorrow morning looking forward to it. There was a covid scare last month in our area so it was cancelled. Only show that has happened so far this season usually there are 2 or 3 others I attend.

I offered to lead a tour of some neat back roads to a park next weekend as all the MG local events are being cancelled. But only if they want to go on Saturday as Sunday is the Indy 500. Fans or not, I really love that track. Lots of good memories there.

I find Indy interesting in that it has it's own sound.
The echo as the cars go down the straight is it's signature sound.

Looking forward to this:
"This coming Friday, the sound of freedom will roar over the Potomac River, as the skies are filled with dozens of vintage World War II aircraft.
The Arsenal of Democracy Flyover is scheduled to happen around 11:30 a.m. this Friday, Sept. 25. The aircraft will fly down the Potomac from the north, over the Key, Roosevelt and Memorial bridges, and down the National Mall.
“Approximately 70 World War II aircraft will take to the skies over Washington D.C.,” the event’s website says. “These historically sequenced warbird formations will fly over the Washington Mall in two minute intervals. The formations will represent the War’s major battles concluding with a missing man formation.”
This year’s flyover commemorates the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe (V-E) Day, on May 8, 1945.
Aircraft participating in this year’s flyover include P-40 Warhawks, F4U Corsairs, P-51 Mustangs, B-25 Mitchells, B-29 Superfortresses and C-47 Skytrains."

Yep, one of the advantages of living where we do! They had one on the 70th anniversary, also. We have had numerous flyovers of various aircraft, like the Space Shuttle, Blue Angels and T-birds, different helicopters, and many planes of different vintages for events. We also see vintage aircraft and fighter jets fly over Arlington Cemetery fairly often for funerals. All in all, very cool!!

That would be awesome to see! I'm not ashamed to admit I get choked up at the sight and sound of a WWII era formation doing a flyby.

Wow, 70. That would be something. I still recall when we were in Windsor, Ontario and three or four B-17s fly over us along with a few escort planes.
