I'm glad Cindy is doing well. While I don't know I strongly suspect the last year and a half must have been terrifying.

Now, with respect to the other supposed event.
I do see two names so you do have a witness.
Congrats, I'm jealous as hell. I had a couple of good sniffs at the hole over the years been never drained one.
Actually hit the flag stick about 8 inches above the hole and left it 10" away but no cigar.
I've got a couple eagles from the fairway which is close but not an ace.
Nice round overall. I'd take an 83

Mike, I watched it. I saw it one hop then disappear. It was obvious from the tee.

It's hot...I don't like hot. I went for a walk this AM, and cut it short....too darn humid. We ran an errand in the P car, top down, AC on and the rest of the day pretty much hung out on the deck. A friend came over for dinner.
Tomorrow I'll force myself to attend a class at the Y at 8:30...outside in the humidity...made plans for a late lunch with outside seating.

BTW, even if we want to go to the beach, many are limiting capacity. In RI, they are allowing only 25% capacity and asking those of us from bordering states to not go there..

Jerry/all

Yes, it's been a trying year plus now.. Just want normalcy to be, well, normal... Thank you all for the kind words and support.

As for the golfing Jerry- 30 years or so. Only one. I've holed out from the fairway a few times for Eagle (maybe 5 total of all kinds), but only on Ace. I previously had a few 4-6" tap ins... I've also only shot in the 70s once (a 79 at that!)

What's odd is that besides about 3 really bad shots (2 on 15 and 1 on 17), I played extremely well in all aspects, particularly a course I've never seen before that had very few flat, straight lies on it. Today, I played another local course, wide open, holes side by side and I couldn't hit anything straight. Shot a 94 on a par 70! Argghhh, that's why they call it golf! I think at home the last few weeks, I've been in the mid-80s -which I'm very happy with. Just hope I play well Wednesday. We have a voucher for a private club we won at an outing last year. Always like playing well at what should be a very nice place.

I love golf but it's a one sided affair. I briefly got good hot for a few days, when i wasn't working and on the course every day.
When i am on, oh baby. I've hit drives 300+ and could throw it stiff to the pin.
Stupid game that it is, it's when i play the slowest smoothest swing. like butter.
But I rarely post below a 90. invariably I have that hole for 9, or I'm on in 2 on that long par 5 and then 3 or 4 putt.
Some nights I can't get off of the tee to save my life but keep it basically in front of me with good chip n putt and put a 43 on the card. WTF??
It just never seems like all three phases show up in the same round. I can have any two of 3 but not all.

But as the great Bobby Jones said " Golf is a game played on the 5 inch fairway between the ears."

I think every golfer shares all those issues with the great stupid game of golf. OK, maybe not the 300 yard part. I almost never hit woods off the tee any more.

I've started to use my driver 2 iron off the tee when the big stick won't go straight.
I've also had more of a conundrum about what to keep in the bag.
the 2 and 3 iron along with the 3 wood and 4 hybrid competing for a slot.
If it's just Barb and I on a fun round. they all go in.

Pops and I went to the The Hildene Estate today which was the summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, www.hildene.org They just recently opened up again and are not running at full capacity but we were able to tour the home and the beautiful grounds and also see the Pullman car which was very interesting it is one of 5 left known to exist.
Tomorrow we are having a cruise by at the retirement village where I work so I am going to help out and bring my Dad with me.

I taught the feeder calves to play hide and seek. There's 30 of them in this photo, some are better at hiding than others...
