Celebrated Fathers Day early with a top down drive on a beautiful night and a deck dinner with a great view. It sure feels good to eat out. We kept our distance from others but not a single person was wearing a mask, except for one inside server.

I'm about as close to playing well, Jerry, as your house is to mine.

I stuck a crowbar in my wallet and took my Dad to the Newport car museum and out to eat at an actual restaraunt on Saturday. Today we had our montly cars and coffee and we went back to our normal 3 hour format and everything went smoothly.

Which car museum, Rob? The Newport one in Portsmouth, or Audrain, in Newport? We prefer the one in Portsmouth. Where did you eat? Where is Dad staying for the summer? He sold his house in RI, didn't he?

Lainey, we went to the Newport car museum in Portsmouth, I have been to the Audrain and like the Portsmouth one better also. We went to the Govenor Francis Inn in warwick which is an excellent restaraunt www.govenorfrancisinn.com My Dad has been renting a condo down in Florida since last June and he came up to R.I. this month to put the house that we grew up in for sale, so we have been cleaning it out. He is going to stay with me for the month of July and then head back to Florida in August. My sister is moving down to Florida also she just bought a condo down there.

Yes I went last September and enjoyed it but it's tough since I just started working again not exactly looking to take time off after starting a new job but I will just take it as it comes.

This weekend I plan to attempt to squeeze my commodious posterior through an access panel designed for a slim-hipped waif, so I can lay some polythene ground sheet under the house as the first step towards a warmer, drier home. It's becoming abundantly clear that water and moisture control is going to be a big part of enhancing this property - on a particularly cold and damp morning a few days ago we even had moisture on the ceiling in the hallway. I've insulated and dried out plenty of houses in the past as we have a history of starting with wrecks and finishing with cozy dwellings. This one's twice the size of any we've had before so it'll take a fair bit more time.

PAINT! I bought ceiling paint the other day, now that the master bathroom drywall is fully repaired. I had the ceiling sanded down, so, I get to paint the ceiling!

The bathroom walls were a mess. The previous owner took out a closet and expanded the bathroom (she passed away, which is how the cottage became available). They hid the holes for the old medicine cabinet, and towel holder. I had an overhead light installed, over the toilet, so I could remove the dual wall sconces behind the toilet.

Home rehab is slowly coming along...
