Fri evening we are going to a nice restaurant downtown to celebrate 13 years of unwedded bliss.

Were supposed to go with nephew and family to see cherry blossoms on Sun, but peak has been pushed back a week due to cold weather. So going out to his place instead. My older adorable grandniece (3) has gotten paints, so she and the +1 will be painting something. Will be sure to take pics. And a visit to Chick-fil-A is on the agenda. They love that place. The one near them has a playground inside for the kiddies.

Enjoy Deb. I miss the grandkids being that young. We used to do little painting projects. Pumpkins, yard stuff, etc. I'm sure your +1 will be a better instructor than I was.

No weekend plans except dinner with friends. I hope we get to watch some snow melt!

Ended up the family came over our way since they are checking out different churches and went to one near us on Sun. So we all walked to Georgetown and had pizza, then went to the nice park there on the waterfront. Got ice cream and the girls had a great time running around.

This weekend is a crazy one here in DC. Sat is the big anti gun violence march, with upwards of 500,000 young people and others expected. We will probably walk downtown for that. Sun is the opening ceremony of the Cherry Blossom Festival.

To add to all the craziness around here, Wed two lanes going into the pickup area at National Airport will be closed for the foreseeable future while two new security checkpoint areas are built - due to be completed in 2020. It's gonna be just awful for anyone trying to get to the airport by car. And just in time for the start of big tourist season!

Fri evening we are attending an event at the Saudi Arabian Embassy which was put off due to bad weather a couple of weeks ago. Should be very interesting.

"Meet the embassy staff and ICDC members with an interest in international cultures. The evening features a presentation of customary clothing from Saudi Arabia along with a presentation giving you insight into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia including its people, culture, and customs. Feel free to ask anything you ever wanted to know about customs, lifestyle, politics in Saudi Arabia in the Question and Answer Session following the presentation. The evening concludes with a dinner buffet of Saudi Arabian culinary delights prepared by the embassy chef."

Sun is Easter and I think we are going over to my nephew's house for an Easter egg hunt with the adorable grandnieces.
