Weekend starts with the 4th for most everyone. The +1's son is going to spend the 4th and 5th with us. I've not seen him in about five years, so will be nice to catch up. Now that he is in Baltimore, I expect I will see him a bit more often.

Flying tomorrow with the +1 to Columbus Ohio for a wedding on Saturday. Looking forward to seeing lots of nice people (relatives) but not to the stormy humid hot weather, esp. since I have to wear a coat to the wedding.
Never been to Ohio so that will be new. Bride and groom having a picnic on the 4th, hope we don't get rained on.

We live in a suburb of Columbus, OH, and it looks like the forecast is for a lot of rain through Sunday.

We just had a severe thunderstorm.

Hope you have a nice time at the wedding and picnic.

(My husband, goblueS2K, and I are both originally from San Francisco. The weather in Columbus is certainly a lot different than in S.F.)

No kidding, Sue!
On Sunday we drive to Dayton to see my BIL.
Is the rain sporadic or is it an all day affair? I've been looking at the weather forecasts.... but nothing like a report from boots on the ground.

Thanks for your post, Rob. It brought back a lot of memories. I miss my Dad. Wish I'd gotten up to Delaware to see him a little more often. Looking forward to seeing Mom in a couple weeks, though.

Coming events naturally include the 4th, then my oldest grandson's BD which is the day after, and then doing last minute preparations for another 1,000 mile trip in the '59 MGA. We're off to a national meet in Dubuque, Iowa on the Mississippi. Get to spend two nights with David Hobbs, who I've met before. He drove sports cars (I saw him win the 1962 GT 1.3L class at LeMans in a Colin Chapman team Lotus Elite with Frank Gardner). He also raced in NASCAR, F1 and was a NBC race commentator. Plans include a trip to LeClaire; home of the American Pickers. Maybe I can get a picture with the tattooed lady.

Happy Independence Day!

No plans for the weekend, other than housework (more wallpaper stripping and downspout cleaning).

Leave Tuesday for the US Amateur Soccer Association National Championships in Boston (Progin Park for the locals).
