I flew to California on Wednesday night to drive to San Diego for the ElliptiGO Rally this weekend. At 6:00 AM today, the first wave of riders will climb Palomar Mountain. When that's all done there are group rides at 3PM in Solana Beach, from ElliptiGO and then a pizza and beer dinner afterwards. More group rides on Sunday morning. The first rally I went to was in September 2011. They get more fun and more people every year. We have riders from all over the USA and one guy and his family from England.

^In Lake Forest, California summer temps have returned.

^My ElliptiGO and "
Lola Hikes the Icy Mountain Lola Hikes the Icy Mountain
" ready to roll to Solana Beach in the morning. The author of the book, Tina, will be meeting me to sign it today. Ricky and I met her when she and her friend were finishing up a section of the Pacific Crest Trail at Kennedy Meadows. They had hiked for a week covering a tough 100 mile section when we met them at the South Fork of the Kern River, just down from my 5th wheel, in May. They were thrilled to get a shower and eat hot dogs with us after roughing it on the trail. Tina and Ingrid are both going to meet Ricky and me at Peet's Coffee today. It'll be great to see them again.

The Machine (Pink Floyd cover band) was amazing. On to the farm fall fest tomorrow. Will be windy and chilly.

Weekend went as planned. We did get a little top down time yesterday afternoon. Italian dinner with friends good food, good time. I found my motivation to do some heavy cleaning in our room. Fresh valances, comforter, windows and woodwork washed. We (or I should say Rick) hung the photos of my Mom, his Mom and my grandarents in the guest room, switched out a couple others, puttered around a bit more, then I headed out for some fresh air (it was chilly) and camera time while he watched football.

Fall Fest at Temple Hall Farm in Leesburg with nephew and family was fun. All kinds of stuff to do plus animals. Once the sun came out, it warmed up a bit and the wind didn't seem so bad. We all walked through one of the corn mazes. (There were two - the +1 did both.) I was afraid of getting lost, but figured out that the path that was most worn was the correct one. Plus the nephew had a map. It took us about 30 minutes to go through. The girls kept pulling corn off the stalks. They seemed to love the cow train the best. Little cars painted like cows pulled by a tractor. It was lovely out there in the country. Then we went to brunch back in Ashburn, where nephew lives. Let me see if the +1 got any good pics. We will be seeing them again in two weeks in Chicago, where my other nephew is getting married.

Pics from the Fall Fest - corn was actually very tall, so you could not see over it:

Cut pics,Deb. Looks like a good time. We took our grandchildren to a corn maze once, and they had one of those little trains. The grandson enjoyed it. The granddaughter was "too old" for it, so she told us.

This weekend is the last of the Autumn Monsoon Soccer Season. Life goes back to the quiet norm.
