The Viking ship was cool. Turns out it was built by a wealthy Norwegian in 2010-2012. There have been some original ships found, but none with this design. It is a dragon boat, which would have been the head of a flotilla and had a king or some other high level person on board. The owner was actually there today. Here's a pretty cool video of it from a couple of years ago. The +1 took some pics, so will post a couple.

Neat! Did you go for a cruise on it?

No...they had deck tours where members of the crew talked about the ship. Interesting.

So nice out, we went back to the Cape. Love where you live! Did some exploring, and grabbed a few shots of "Yellowlegs" from a boardwalk. There are Greater or Lesser Yellowlegs, not sure which ones these are. Shots taken from a boardwalk at a beach. Had not been there before, will go again. It's beautiful!

We are going to be on a Viking ship in December but it doesn't look like that one!

If you think about developing sailing skills in the north sea.... yikes, it's no wonder they were hardy sailors.

The only thing on the agenda is lunch and playtime with my nephew's family. We have tickets to a Fall Fest at a farm in Leesburg, but are putting that off until next weekend since it has rained so much lately (including some big t-storms yesterday) that I'm afraid it will be a mud pit. So looks like we will see the darling little grandnieces two weekends in a row. The older one told the +1 she wants him to come to her house and play. So cute...probably will be some painting involved.

Not much on schedule. Y time and Saturday AM breakfast with my Y friends. Providing Ally with a ride home from work in the afternoon, she has not yet replaced her vehicle, and some puttering around. I may see about framing some pics of family, grandparents and parents, and making an arrangement on one wall in the guest room. Going to dig through some albums.

Weather may improve on Sunday but it will be chilly. Maybe a little local top down drive.
