Probably spend the weekend licking my emotional wounds.
I had a golf championship match last night and just didn't measure up to the test.
Mind you we ran into a buzz saw who shot a net 30, 6 under par round.
The other two players in the foursome also shot their best rounds of the year.
I didn't.
I thoroughly enjoy the competition but by god I hate performing poorly.
I guess the irony is I almost didn't play this year because I wasn't sure I physically could do it.
So I had to settle for second place. Tiger is in town maybe I should give him a call to commiserate.

I'm guessing second place is still better than last place, Jerry? Golfers are pretty darn hard on themselves!

I can't speak for all golfers. but ultimately you are testing yourself against nature and physics and your body.
it's a brutal inspection and you usually fail to some degree or another as there is always room for improvement.
but I'll see if I can do better Sunday when the better half and I go play again.

Picking up my new Porsche Macan. My wife and I found the excellent PDK transmission to be addictive.

So far so good. The weather forecast is holding. I’m going to do some inshore Fishing today and then gas her up for the long run east. Monday’s forecast has changed a bit. Still doable, but conditions are becoming a bit more challenging with three foot waves and fog in the forecast.

We are going to the Rice - U of Houston game this morning. Rice has a new coach from Stanford. Not expected to win today.

Trying to assuage my little dog Tara who is pissed at me for being away for so long... LOL

Golf is a fickle game. Hard to beat a low score like that. I lost our company championship when I was working by 1 stroke. All I had to do was bogey the par 5 18th and I double bogeyed. Came in second like you so I feel your pain. Drank a lot of beer at the banquet and it helped a lot. I won the year before so all you can do is move on. Mark Twain once said Golf is a good walk spoiled.

I have a first and second place trophy on the shelf already but I still hate to lose.
more than that however I just didn't play well. that bothers me a lot more than losing.
I failed to meet my expectation. so tomorrow we'll get up early and go play 18.
I think I might be able to still beat my wife. maybe, she's gotten much better this year.
then I'll bear the shame of being beaten by a girl....

Damn, must be real addictive... isn't that a 50K+ car?
