^^^ Agreed. And anyone who tested any variant of the F104 surely had the right stuff. While it was a great interceptor in its day, my understanding is that mistakes in the cockpit could be very costly.

True but it was not originally designed for all the low level work most countries used them for. In Canada the first group of pilots had to have fast jet time to be considered for training by the Air Force.

Leaving at sunrise on Thursday morning for Road America and my 20th installment of the Vintage Classic (formerly called the Brian Redmond International Classic (BRIC)) now called the Weathertech International. Ten of us have rented a house for about the last 10 years in downtown on the corner of East and Elm right where the race car show and classic concours is held.
-----------This link shows what the event is like

We celebrate at Schwarz' Steak House on the second night and always bring a special wine in a special size (a salmanazar (a case in one bottle)). The guy in the picture is my running mate from high school, Donnie.

Relaxing this week end. We have had company at the beach house for 3 weeks off and on. We built it and they came.
