Gene and Jim, have fun on your trips. We might head out of town ourselves. There's supposed to be a nice restaurant about 10 miles away.

Day 14: Westlake Hills CA to Springdale UT
Day 15: Springdale UT to Moab UT (Planning to hit Zion, Canyonlands, and Capitol Reef National Parks)
Day 16: Moab, UT to Montrose, CO (Visit Arches NP enroute)
Day 17: Montrose, CO to Dodge City, KS.(Visit Black Canyon of the Gunnison NP enroute)

the part between Clovis and Lordsburg, there is an out of the way road, NM152, just north of Las Cruces and goes into Silver City.
If you dont do that, then stop for dinner at La Posta De Mesilla, a true NM restaurant in Mesilla, NM right on the town square.

Really enjoyed Camelot. We liked Lancelot the best, although everyone was good.

Jason told me about NM152, but I really don't have the time to make that detour. I will see if I can make La Posta De Mesilla, though. Thanks!

Gene, La Posta is definitely worth the effort if you can make it.
