I've got to get in 10 miles for Every Day in May (EDIM), for an ElliptiGO club challenge. Plant gladiolus bulbs and repot flowers. Pick up Ricky at Denver airport and drive to Colorado Springs for my nephew's wedding, tomorrow, while getting in another ride on Sunday and Monday at our hotel in Manitou Springs. I'm am so ready for May to be over so I can get back to riding when I feel like it. Wednesday morning I fly to Newark, NJ for Spring Fling. I'll probably get in 10 miles on Wednesday morning and then ride with my friend, Carol, in Basking Ridge, NJ on Thursday and finally be done with EDIM.

A huge group of Rolling Thunder bikers just rolled into town with a police escort below me on Route 50. Hundreds of them - very cool to watch from above. Probably not so cool if you are in traffic anywhere around here this weekend. Gonna be crazy...

We are always 'stay at home' types for holiday weekends..... traffic is terrible, police are out in large numbers, people are driving crazy, etc. The nice thing about being retired is we can take all the day trips and more any time during the middle of any week. We had a good time at the pub last night with friends and will be meeting another MGA couple for dinner tonight at a lake restaurant which is just 45 minutes away.

We are in the great state of Lainey, I mean Massachusetts, for a wedding tomorrow. We had yesterday and today free, so we visited the Lizzie Borden House and Battleship Cove in Fall River, and today went with a million others on the road to Hyannis, Sandwich and Plymouth. The restaurants were packed and we couldn't even get a drink, so we drove back to Fall River to eat at Caldeiros, a Portuguese restaurant. Very good food, and half the cost of the same meal back home.
Weather has been great, even a bit warm but tomorrow rain is predicted. Unfortunately it will be an outdoor ceremony, unless it pours.
Tuesday we head for home, but stop in Savannah for three days to check it out.

Welcome Dean! I hope you enjoyed your trip to Fall River. We had dinner just last Saturday at a Portuguese restaurant in Fall River I've not tried the one you mentioned, it's now on my list. We do have a lot of restaurants in the area, locally owned where you can get pretty good food, reasonably priced. One of our young car friends from Cambridge, MA has been amazed a few times at the prices of meals in this area vs Boston. Sorry about the crowds as you headed east. Memorial Day is a tough weekend to head towards the Cape. I hope the weather holds out for the wedding tomorrow. Hope the rest of your trip is enjoyable.

It was quite hot and humid here today. We were hovering around 90, yet when I took a trip to Fairhaven 10 minutes away the temps were in the high 60's! It was unreal the difference in temps as soon as you got near the coast We did most of the gardening/planting today and it wasn't a whole lot of fun, but it's done.

Tomorrow heading downtown for lunch at the local brewery with a couple NE pals. Monday a cookout out at a friend's and, if weather holds out earlier in the day, a trip to RI to check out the display of flags and combat boots at Roger Williams Park

My usual early morning...just saw a group of bikers going to the Pentagon for the big get together prior to the procession from the Pentagon across the Memorial Bridge, starting at noon. That's a long day, but I'm sure it's loads of fun with 900K of your closest friends.

when you are in Savannah, if you like Reubens, go to Six Pence Pub, it is an old Irish debtors prison. It is also down the block from Chippewa Square where the Forest Gump park bench scenes were filmed.

safe travels.

^ I've been to that pub. And Clary's is the place for breakfast. If you have read "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil", you will recognize some places from that book, too.

Well, the wedding was really nice, but we had to be moved inside due to the rain and wind. No big deal.
Now back in Boston for dinner and the night, flying out tomorrow. So our planned sunny days in Savannah have been upset by Antonio (?) a tropical storm that is dropping up to eight inches of rain all over Alabama, Georgia and Florida. We may be on the edge of it and only get "thundershowers" but our three days of walking around may be somewhat curtailed. We shall see.
