I thought this might be an interesting topic as we come upon that time of the year that triggers some fond memories from the days of past. I remember getting a pair of speed skate (ice) when I was 9 or 10 years old one Christmas Day. I was so very happy and excited of getting that from the "Santa." What has been a memorable gift for you as you remember. It doesn't have to be the most expensive or the fanciest but something that you still remember this day.

When I was ~7 years old, Santa brought me a Hot Wheels track that you could manually fling the cars around (an oval) with a lever. It had banked turns and a counter for your laps.

That was super cool.

Johnny Lightning? I had one of those

I had this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Johnny-Lightning-L-M-5...0QQcmdZViewItem
While I don't remember the "Johnny" part of the name, the "Lightning" part is unforgetable. My favorite/fastest car was not even close to the curves of an S -- which is now my favorite/fastest car

Not sure we got this at Christmas, but when I was about six, my dad constructed a whole town for our train set, on a wooden platform. He painted a lake on it and stuff. It was very, very . The train had an engine you put those little white pills in to make smoke. Also, I still remember his teaching me to ride my new purple bike with the training wheels.
