Boy, talk about a bunch of -obsessed vintagarians....there's no one else here to talk to me It only took me about 75 minutes to read through this thread....catching up with the essential *vintage talk*
Now, for those that were paying attention, here's Kathy and Jerry's story about Sunday afternoon:
*Drive with Robb thru southern VT....arriving @ Brattleboro about 2 pm....intersection of I-89 & Rte 9.
*Break off from the group to pursue long drive via Rte 9 to Maine....arrive at Kean NH about 3 pm. Hmmmm....see police cars and large flashing red emergency sign that says "Rte 9 closed ahead....seek alternate routes"
*Figure they can't be serious....take exit into town marked "to Rte 101"
*Drive merrily for about 1 mile into Kean....find that Rte 101 is a parking lot in the north direction. Take Rte 101 south.....also becomes parking lot. Hmmmm....maybe gendarmes were right
*Finally get back to Rte 9....clears out....retrace route to the west....back to Brattleboro- it's about 4 pm. Arrival in Maine at 6 pm is offf the table Call family in ME and tell about the delay.
*Drive NNE on I-89 about 50 miles....almost to White River Jnctn....then SSE about 50 miles on I-91 to Concord.....continue to Rte 101 east.
*Via Rte 101 and I-95, arrive in Brunswick ME about 8:30 pm....about 2.5 hours late with 125 extra miles on the odo
Y'all don't even WANT to hear about our trip from Maine back to Peeay on Tuesday. Let's just say that +12 hours driving...mostly in rain.... is not fun (although we did have an hour shoppin' break @ LL Bean and another hour lunch break in Ogunquit).
So........we had a good trip but I'm glad that the is over for a few days
PS- Why is no one else online at 1:30 am EST

Patty,
I guess that you have not seen the TV ad campaign for Holiday Inn's Express where people are suddenly experts in a variety of professional skills like surgery, etc. .....................
The punch line is I didn't know your where a (fill in the blank) and he responds "I'm not, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
(eluding to the fact that if your stay at a HIE it will make you appear to be smart)
Make more sense now?
