Default What makes a meet great? Part III

What makes a meet great? The people. Old friends, new friends, its the people.

We all had a great time at the Spring Fling '05.

Special thanks to:

Deb (MsPerky) for putting this whole thing together.

George (gfactor) for planning out a great drive route.

George (gfactor), Matt (Matt_inVA), Roy (canberra) & Jonas(JonasM) for being great group leaders.

Rick Hesel (Rick_Hesel), Joel (Nate03), Burt (zcarcrazy), Matt ( Matt_inVA), Bill (Legal Bill) & Dennis (goblue) for speaking and putting on the seminars that many of us attended and enjoyed.

Beth (Klassyblue) for the great tee shirt and magnet design.

Burt & Sheila (zcarcrazy) for producing the tee shirts and magnets.

Roy (canberra) for producing the DVD for all of us to enjoy.

Bill & Barbara (Legal Bill), Sheila (zcarcrazy), Teddi (tennisbum) and everyone else who joined in for leading the singing and knowing the words (most of them anyway).

Billy (S2KBILLY) & Skip (FF2Skip) for springing into action immediately and making sure that Granny got the help she needed when she needed it. You are never alone when you're with the Vintage family.

Vintage people and all of the PreVints are simply extraordinary.

Thanks to everyone who attended for making this such a great weekend.

If I've missed anyone I apologize.

The car brought us together, but the people keep us together. Its the people. The Vintage family is a very special one.

Forgot to tell y'all this, but at breakfast Sun morning, the guy sitting at the next table came over and introduced himself, asked what all the cars were about, then proceeded to tell me he owns one!!! What are the odds of that happening??!! Of course I gave him the hard sell - he's from WV so if he joins, I think he will become the second member, after Keith.

I'd like to thank the alcohol

Rob, you are right. It is the people.

I'd like to throw out a few personal thank-yous too.

Rob and Liz for hosting the Friday morning meet and breakfast.

Joel for leading the Legal Bill Route to Gettysburg.

Bobby for the "surprise" lunch treat (class touch there pal, put us all in a great mood).

Jerry for the very well organized and informative tour of Gettysburg Park and the route suggestions for the return trip.

Rick and Lainey for putting up with us for another night and having a Sunday night stop and dinner all figured out for us.

Jonas for not being Pi**ed when I blew off the drive.

And finally to Deb for all the great work she did putting this together.

You know, writing a list like this stinks. I feel like I should thank about 20 more people now, like Teddy for knowing the words, Granny for having the BEST attitude on earth, Sheila for being willing to sing along with me (since she can actually sing)... Sorry if I left some of you out, but thanks to all for tolerating me. In summary, you have to feel very comfortable around a group of people to sing all night with them, and that is how Barbara and I felt.

Now, about SF '06...

We had a BLAST!

It was great to put faces and names together.

Rob thanks for researching the hotels for us in NJ and coming up with a good one. The trip down on Friday with Bobby B and Nate 03, Rob, Liz, Bill, Barbara, and Jerry and Kathy was so much fun. The company at lunch was great and the fact that the restaurant "burned our tab" was pretty neat. Thanks BobbyB.

Jerry's guided tour of Gettysburg was really nice and well thought out.

We had so many laughs at the dinner on Saturday, and Patty I have not read through the threads yet, but we did raise a glass in your honor on Saturday. (In case no one else has mentioned it.)

We extended our trip and thoroughly enjoyed our scenic ride home through PA with Bill and Barbara. (Thanks Jerry for the Route suggestions.)

Granny, what can I say? We hated and were freightened by what we saw, but we were so glad you were OK, and so impressed with Skip and SK2Billy handling things for you. It truly is a great group.

I'm sure I have more to say, and pics to post, but I'll have to do that later.

Thanks again to Deb for all your work planning such a great time for all of us.

I can only echo what other's have said, except to add.......

It was great to tip the glass with so many really nice rowdy people.

Granny you were really under the circumstances and very strong.

Finally, let's put an end to this tradition of banging up an S2000 at these events, so we can all home.
