One thing my mother liked a lot was baseball. We are celebrating her today by going to the Nats/Mets ball game. Vito's mom is still alive and kicking at 92. She loves to cook. Making her famous eggplant.

Happy Mother's Day! My mom, God rest her soul, was Irish. (Her maiden name was Hannigan.) She loved to cook and she was a great cook. God bless you, Mom.

Mom liked to be fussed over. Not in a large way, but enjoyed eating out, or having a meal at the home's of any of her six children. She was just as happy to be served a hot dog or hamburg with homemade potato salad as she was a lobster. Well maybe she liked the lobster a bit more.

She liked to go to the casinos, but my other sisters indulged her in that one. Casinos are not my thing.

A surprise visit from her kids, grandkids, or great grandkids would make her day. I was wearing some of her jewelry at my granddaughter's college graduation on Friday. She would have like that.

A shout out to Rick's Mom. She was very much like my own Mom. Loved to cook and feed her family. Always happy to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful person to have as a mother in law.

As an old Italian lady she likes nothing more than to cook and feed her family, almost forcing you to eat something. You can't say no, so you just eat and make her happy. She doesn't want much in life, and nothing for herself, she is very selfless that way. I gave her a nice card , two bunches of asparagus from the farm, and a bunch of lottery tickets with a visit, and she was happy. We live farther away from her so it was nice to visit.

My Mom was the same way. If I ‘only’ had 2 helpings of something she would say don’t you like it or aren’t you hungry. And if there was only a small amount of something left in a serving dish on the table like for example peas she would say somebody finish it so I don’t have to put it back in the fridge and have 3 peas rolling around in there.

And you never would want to arrive for a family event and walk into my Mom’s kitchen eating or drinking something from an outside source. That was a no-no.

Rob , you and I have so much in common, our mothers sound like they could have been relatives, lol.
