I wish that I could be more optimistic, versus pragmatic. This in my opinion hampers my creative side. Logic seems to hinder my creative side from taking risks that may work out. Over the years I had two examples of this: One had to do with the big belt buckle craze in the 70's and the other had to do with dart boards. Both which other people went forward with and one wound up at Spencer Gifts shops.

I understand this very well. I've taken the attitude that the better person just says nothing and moves on. I often withhold my opinion or comment in order to keep peace. I used to dwell on it, but nowadays I just let it go. Maybe that makes me a wimp, but I don't feel that way.

You definitely have to pick your battles. I have a tendency to get involved in everyone's business, in case you haven't noticed. Have to curb that.

I think many of us have had this issue, Patty. A wise woman told me, "if he pushes your buttons, lose the buttons." Easier said than done, but letting it (annoying relative) get to you is a waste of precious energy.

I wish I could speak Scottish Gaidhlig (Gaelic) fluently, although I don't see a lot of opportunities for conversation.
I would also like to be able to play the Great Highland Bagpipe. And I would like to be a much better writer. Making a living at writing at this stage of my life would be fun, I think.

I too would enjoy being able to use Gaelic and then perhaps I wouldn't need a dictionary to understand all the words you use. Making a living at writing can be quite difficult for anyone. I'm surprised there are so many new authors springing up who are seemingly doing quite well though. Why don't you just give it a shot?

I suspect if I had to write for a living, I'd probably starve to death before lunch.
