What is the BEST CONCERT that you have ever attended?

During the 1971-72 school year, Mason Proffit came to Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD. They played in the old gymnasium on the basket ball court. We stood about five (5) feet from them as they played. A couple weeks later we traveled to SDSU in Brookings, SD where they played again. This time in a larger gymnasium and we were on the floor at the opposite end of the basketball court. The next month the group disbanded. Micheal and John Talbot played gospel for many years as single artists.

I am not really a big fan of live concerts. More often than not, I prefer their records but a couple I saw come to mind.....
My first in the mid 50s - Bill Haley & the Comets (first white band to introduce R&R). Believe it or not one of the Comets is still going - saw him last year.
The king - Elvis
Solitary man - Neil Diamond
Could it be magic - Barry Manilow (only went because +1 made me, but he put on a great Vegas type show)
Too thin - Karen Carpenter & her brother
Biggest disappointment - Bob Seger (I loved many of his songs and his show stunk)
Biggest surprise - Lou Christie (He acknowledged me from stage). I hung out with him one summer in high school.
And a bunch more that all fad away like the Kingsman (Louie, Louie) from college time, and the like.......... I would have loved to have seen the really great Do Wop performers together live but never had the opportunity.
In the end I am generally disappointed with most concerts I've attended for one reason or another. Whereas, something like the Jersey Boys play was better than a concert IMHO.

Dave and John made me think of the best, bad concert or the worst, best concert I've been too.
There was a band called Pousette Dart. a big one hit wonder with I hope that it's only amnesia.
Musically, it was perfect, Dave would have loved it, it was almost exactly like the album.
They weren't lip synching, just excellent musicians.
but from a stage presence, they were like a bunch of mannequins.
Heck, They hardly changed facial expressions. Zero audience interaction.

Post Moon, unfortunately. But it was sort of a nostelgia tour so they did everything from Who's Next tunes back through Tommy and all the way back to songs like My Generation and I Can See for Miles. Great show.
First concert, when I was a Junior in HS, my aunt took me over to Geneva to see B.B. King. That was cool.
Best concert in my recent memory was Cowboy Roy, Grechen Wilson, and Big & Rich. I expected a few Cowboy Roy songs, then I figured Wilson would do a set, and finally Big and Rich would start easy and then build. Wrong! Big & Rich, Wilson, and Roy all came on together, launched into a very high energy number, and just kept going from there. I am not a big country fan but this was one hell of a show.
