Default What about 2006?

Its January 14th. We're two weeks into 2006. What do you think of this new year? Think it'll be a good year? What do you expect to see and do?

I expect to get laid off from work.

Our company is being bought and most of our employees will be let go after the merge later this year.

As hard as I worked last year, I expect this year to be even harder.

You've got the smiley. Is being laid off a good thing for you?

I have sometimes wished to be forced into looking for something new in the job department. I've been with my present employer 20 years last week, but it is the "same old, same old". I don't have the necessary drive to seek other employment, and I guess I'm just comfortable here. When I think about being forced into seeking something else, I remember those wise words. "Be careful what you wish for."

Well, other than the next 6 months or so will be very stressful - yes, being laid off is a good thing for me since it was my intent to retire later this year anyway. I'm ready after almost 39 years in "hi-tech"!!

^ Then it sounds as if things are going according to your plan, or will shortly!

Enjoy your retirement!

So far 2006 is proving to be a good year for me. 2004 and 2005 were a bit rough for me so I'm hoping my good fortune of the last couple of weeks continues through 2006.

The year is starting off well for me. I've already gotten several big new projects. I have a brand new 06 S. We're going on a seven day Mexico cruise March 5.

I think 2006 will be a good year - at least that's what I'm planning! Tomorrow the +1's status changes, which is a very good thing. He will finally be single so we can date. He is also getting ready to sign a nice contract for his first civilian job after retirement from the Navy. The new condo has been settled on and renovations are coming along nicely. Moving in February 9th. To be continued...
