Fred, do they just let you out on the weekends? That's definitely a Marked Car!

I was there with the FL group
Had loads of fun even with the hit and run rain.
It was my 1st organized S2K event, but certainly won't be my last!
I actually just got home last night, over 4000 miles in 13 days, including running Skyline Drive and the ENTIRE Blue Ridge Parkway.. TWICE.
I'd go again tomorrow!
Only 2 down notes; a speeding ticket in VA, and my +1 gets a bit queasy on the ultra-twisties.
Cheers,
Mike

Nice pics Mike,
How was the Blue Ridge Parkway ?
Every time my wife and I go to the Dragon, we tend to explore the south/east area of the Smokies and the Skyway.

The Blue Ridge was great, the higher parts (over 5000 ft) between Fontana and Ashville did not have leaves yet, but it was still beautiful, almost alpine in places. There was a closed section that we had to detour around and wound up taking a road about which a park ranger said "Ya'll don't want to take that little bitty road, it goes up over a mountain and is way too twisty!" SR 80 or something.. it was actually even twistier than the Dragon, with a much greater elevation change. there are some houses and hidden driveways on it though.. too many for real 'spirited' driving.
The drive as a whole was very nice, almost no traffic and the people going under the posted 45 mph were mostly very good about pulling into overlooks to let us pass.
I wouldn't recommend using it to get anywhere in a hurry though, it took a full day just to get through to through N. Carolina, and another full day to get to Northern VA. (12 hrs)
